For Your Eyes Only
In For Your Eyes Only we meet the Cessna A185F when it is flying over the old fortress of Corfu, Greece. Melina Havelock (Carole Bouquet) is en route to visit her parents on their vessel Triana. The yacht is for anchor in a Kalami Bay, Corfu. As Melina has boarded Tiana, the plane takes off and flies away. But shortly after, it returns and attacks the ship with a machinegun. Melina survives, but her parents dies.
License to Kill
Also in License to Kill the plane belongs to the villains. It transports drugs that are loaded to Wavechrests remote controlled underwater sledge Sentinel in exchange for money. James Bond (Timothy Dalton) interfears and destroys the drugs. As he is attacked by Sanches' divers, he makes an excape by harpooning the plane. Waterskiing on his bare feet he gets hold of one of the planes floats just before the plane gets airborne. Bond sneaks into the plane by the cargo door and manage to get rid of the henchman. He then fights the pilot, takes control over the plane and throws the pilot into the sea and flies away with the drug money.
No Time to Die
This time the plane is a company plane flying Nomi to Cuba, but Bond steals/borrows it to fly to the CIA spy trawler off the coast of Cuba. No gadgets on board.
The Cessna A185F was in production from 1961 to 1985 and more than 4.400 were build. It is developed from the Cessna 180 and the main difference is a larger vertical fin, a larger engine and a strengthened fuselage. The plane is used for commercil transport to remote airstrips, lakes and snowfields. It is a high-winged all metal aircraft with fixed landing gear. In the 1990s Cessna re-introduced some of its popular models, but the 185 was not among them.
The machinegun on the plane in For Your Eyes Only should have been mounted lower unless it is fully syncronized with the propeller. The machinegun will otherwise hit the propeller and force it to land.
