The Ford Thunderbird 2002 is the eleventh generation and may be the last of the Ford Thunderbird model. A total of 68.098 was produced from June 2001 to July 2005. The design was inspired by the 1955 Thunderbird. The two-seat convertible had a removable hardtop. The sales of the model didn't meet Fords expectations after the first years sale (approx. half of the total production was sold in the first year) and production ended mid 2005.

Today the 2002 Thunderbird is a collectors item.

In 2003 Ford produced a special James Bond 007 limited edition of 700 units sold at a price of USD 43.995. This special 2003 model has the same colour as the Die Another Day Thunderbird, but a white hardtop.
In 2022 the James Bond producer Michael G. Wilson's James Bond 007 Thunderbird  limited edition (#1/700) was up for charity auction. Estimated USD 40.000-60.000. It is currently unknown if it was sold at the auction.
